The peppers are harvested in August each year, dried out either in an oven for more than two full days or hung out in the sun, then ground into a powder.
Piment d’Espelette peppers grade at 4000 on the Scoville scale so are considered mild to medium in terms of heat, but have a wonderful fruity flavour, with slight citrus and smoky notes. Total weight: 40g.
