Tasting Information

Our guided cheese tastings are a wonderful way to celebrate special occasions, birthdays, festive holidays, date night with your partner, or to just enjoy your average week night. They make a fantastic and fun event for friends, colleagues and families, as well as couples, and can be catered to a huge range of tastes and preferences.

We run both ticketed events across Cambridge, often in collaboration with other local businesses, and private, bespoke tastings, both in person and online via Zoom.

During every tasting, private or public, one of our enthusiastic team will teach you all about the history of each cheese, the animals & farms involved, the dairy and the production method, as well as about the flavour of every cheese and the art of pairing. With 30 years of experience of artisanal cheeses and presentations, our brilliant team can guarantee an informative, fun, accessible and enjoyable event.

Private Tastings

Our private tastings are all completely unique and are all customised to your exact requirements. We have run many different themed tastings, by country or region, by milk type, by flavour or we can simply include a range of our absolute favourite cheeses.

Our standard cheese tasting includes 6 generously sized cheeses (a range of hard/soft/blue, cow's/ewe's/goat's cheeses from across the UK and Europe). Included with the cheese is roughly half a box of crackers per person and paired condiments for 3-5 of the cheeses, depending which ones are chosen and what pairs best!

Pricing for this tasting is £35pp but we can reduce this to £30pp for groups of 15-20 and to £28pp for groups of 20+. We require a minimum group size of 6 for private, in person tastings.

Please note that we are unable to host tastings in our own small shop. Those who have visited us before will know that we are a very small deli, without any tables or seating, a loo, or even any crockery! We have worked with a number of venues across Cambridge to host these tastings and many of them don’t charge for their space, assuming you purchase any drinks required on site. We have worked with Thirsty Wine Bar, Novi, Cambridge Wine Merchants and Cambridge Gin Lab in the past, but are open to working with all other pubs and bars too, so please book a space wherever you are happiest!

For corporate events, we will be happy to meet you at your place of work.

We are unable to run tastings in private homes.

Ticketed Tastings

We host collaborative events across Cambridge with many of our favourite local, independent businesses. Currently, we run wine and cheese tastings with King St Cellar and the Cambridge Wine Merchants, gin and cheese tastings with the Cambridge Gin Lab and are soon to launch beer and cheese tastings with Calverley's.

Our upcoming events are listed below:

Wednesday 8th May, Cheese & Gin Tasting at the Cambridge Gin Lab on Green St, £40pp (tickets [coming soon] via Gin Lab website, under 'Special Classes')

DIY Home Tastings

Outside of our tutored tastings, we sell Cheese & Wine tasting packs (on the gift section of our website), all of which come with extensive tasting notes, or we can create a DIY custom tasting for you to run at home - i.e. a selection of cheeses and condiments to your chosen budget with accompanying notes. Please email us at cambridgecheese@gmail.com if you would like us to create a bespoke selection of goods with tasting notes.
